August 22nd to 24th, 2025
SUNDAY, AUGUST 24: Brunch at Springfield Farm (two seatings) 18709 County Rd 25, Apple Hill, ON K0C 1B0.
Escape the city and immerse yourself in a truly special rural experience with Savour the Field, an Indigenous farm-to-table culinary journey set in the beautiful countryside of Eastern Ontario.
This outdoor experience features a soul-nourishing meal centered around moose and cornbread, accompanied by traditional Indigenous refreshments, and crafted with fresh, local ingredients sourced from nearby producers.
Hosted at Springfield Farm Organics, a certified organic farm in Apple Hill, this event is grounded in a love of community, sustainability, and warm hospitality. Your hosts, farmers Eleanor and Finbarr, are known for their welcoming spirit and deep-rooted passion for bringing people together around food and land. At their farm, you’ll not only eat well, you’ll feel at home. We would like to recognize that Springfield Farm is located on the tradition and unceded territory of the Algonquin Nation.
At the heart of the event is Chef Jonathan Lazore, a Mohawk from Akwesasne – “Land Where the Partridge Drums.” Inspired by the teachings of his mother and grandmother, and the land along the Saint Lawrence River where he was raised, Chef Lazore brings rich ancestral knowledge and bold BBQ flair to every dish.
What to expect:
• A gourmet Indigenous meal served in the open air
• Two sittings to choose from: 10:00 AM or 12:00 PM
• An exclusive, limited-capacity experience
• Live music by Alanna Sterling
• Children’s activities on-site – a welcoming family atmosphere
• A unique connection to Indigenous foodways, land, and community
Just a short drive from Ottawa, Montreal, or Kingston, this event offers a rare opportunity to step away from the city and into a space of culture, flavour, and connection to the land.
Tickets are limited—reserve your seat and come Savour the Field.
