On March 24, it was possible to participate in the monthly meeting of EOAN members presented as a 5 to 7 with as host on this special occasion, the Lamoureux family who own a company making sublime maple syrup products, Cassburn Sweets.
To start the festivities, the hosts did the honor of introducing to the 30 people present the basics of their production by showing the machinery and explaining all the important and interesting aspects to know when you belong and take to heart the production of fabulous maple products. Since the members traveled from all over Ontario and even Quebec, everyone was happy to taste the delicious dishes that Riverest at l’Orignal had prepared for the occasion. On the menu, a gourmet sandwich made with baguette bread, garnished with exceptional charcuterie accompanied by vegetables of your choice with its homemade hummus incomparable to those in conventional supermarkets. Finally, we were spoiled with their dessert in the form of cheesecake, small biscuit crumbs and maple product incorporated into the recipe coming straight from the production of Cassburn Sweets. The meeting ended on a high note with the group sharing stories and exciting conversations. Additionally, the host was kind enough to raffle off a Cassburn Sweets hoodie that was won by college teacher Monica Atehortua. She and her family are from Colombia and have been in Canada for less than a year.
