Savour the Field: Au cœur du champ Returns Bigger Than Ever with an AI-powered Itinerary Builder and Indigenous Culinary Experience

The Eastern Ontario Agri-Food Network (EOAN) is thrilled to announce the return of Savour the Field: Au cœur du champ (STF), a celebration of local food, culture, and community that’s nearly doubling in scale for 2025. This year’s event invites visitors to explore the region’s rich agri-food landscape through self-guided tours, an AI-powered itinerary builder and a unique Indigenous meal experience.

The event unfolds over three days, from August 22nd to the 24th:

  • Friday and Saturday feature self-guided tours (Doors Open style) featuring local farms, breweries, markets, and artisanal producers. Visitors are encouraged to use our AI itinerary builder to plan their routes and experiences.
  • Sunday brings an extraordinary culinary moment with an Indigenous meal hosted at Springfield Farm, an Organic working farm. Chef Jonathan Lazore from Akwesasne, who brings rich ancestral knowledge and a bold BBQ flair to every dish, will bring together traditional ingredients and storytelling in a communal and stunning setting.

“We’re proud of how this event continues to grow, we almost doubled the producer tours this year! We’re offering even more opportunities to connect with local producers, and discover the flavours of our region” says Eric Collard, Executive Director of the EOAN. “Savour the Field : Au coeur du champ is more than a food event—it’s a regional hyper-local movement.”

This year EOAN has also added an AI-powered itinerary builder so locals and tourists can easily plan their regional tours. The builder can be accessed at https://agrifoodtripplanner.ca/

“The Savour the Field weekend is the perfect time to go meet the amazing producers who feed our communities,” added Sylviane Dutrisac, President of the EOAN and owner of Ferme Butte & Bine. “Grab your friends and go discover all the bounty Eastern Ontario has to offer. I’m very excited about our Sunday farm-to-table meal!

With the support of our producers, partners, and community, Savour the Field: Au cœur du champ continues to deepen its impact on Eastern Ontario’s local food system.The event could not reach as many without the support of Experience Ontario and Cornwall Tourism.
