On the enchanting evening of October 19th, the Eastern Ontario Agri-Food Network (EOAN) embarked on a delightful journey to Mariposa Farm, creating an unforgettable experience for all who attended. The farm tour and refreshments that awaited us were nothing short of perfect.
As we strolled through the farm, the vibrant foliage of the trees painted a breathtaking backdrop to the event. Amidst this picturesque setting, attendees engaged in captivating conversations, adding to the sense of community that EOAN passionately fosters.
Our visit to Mariposa Farm extended beyond the charming scenery; we had the privilege to interact with the farm’s beloved animals, getting up close and personal with the heart of agriculture in Eastern Ontario. Additionally, the farm offered a glimpse into the rustic and cozy huts nestled within the forest, which are available for rent, providing a unique countryside escape for those seeking tranquility.
Mariposa Farm treated us to a delectable array of cheeses, each one a testament to the region’s rich dairy traditions. The pièce de résistance, however, was the succulent duck, sourced directly from their farm. It was a culinary experience that left a lasting impression on our taste buds.
Vergers Villeneuve, true to form, graciously complemented the savory dishes with their finest wines, elevating the evening’s festivities to a higher level of indulgence. And, as has become tradition at EOAN events, many attendees departed with treasures in hand, taking home some of the finest local products to savor.
The evening at Mariposa Farm was just the beginning of what EOAN has in store. Be sure to keep a keen eye out for our upcoming events, as we continue to connect consumers with producers, foster community, and celebrate the abundance of Eastern Ontario’s agri-food sector. The promise of more such unforgettable experiences awaits, as we embark on a journey of discovery through the heart of our local food and agricultural heritage. Stay tuned for the announcement of our next 5-7 events, each destined to be an adventure of its own.
